MEDICAL EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS
You may be required to undergo a medical examination as part of your visa process. The visa office in charge of your case will make this determination. The medical examination requirement is to protect the health and safety of US citizens, as well to avoid undue stress on the health and social services system.

A civil surgeon specifically designated by US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) must carry out the examination. The USCIS website will help you locate the nearest designated civil surgeon, if a medical examination is determined to be necessary.
