RESOURCES FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Support for international students is an important part of universities and colleges in this and every state. US culture is made up of immigrants from all over the world, and the country's educational institutions recognize that studying away from home can sometimes be difficult. US high schools, colleges and universities therefore offer a variety of services and programs to help international students with any challenges they may face while studying in the US. Support for international students varies from institution to institution, but some of the more common international student resources are:

  • Guided city tours

  • Peer counselling, tutoring and mentoring

  • Academic counselling

  • On-campus orientation and transition programs

  • Social events, such as parties, dinners, movie nights

  • Health insurance

  • Buddy programs

  • Writing, language and conversation programs

  • International student centers and clubs

  • Country-specific student clubs

  • International student financial aid
